Most breakdowns on PVC pipe extrusion lines stem from inadequate routine maintenance. Follow these 10 maintenance steps to reduce repair costs and boost equipment utilization.
Weekly: Clean dust from the device body and base; check the load cell is securely mounted and free from contact with other objects.
Every two weeks: Check the weighing accuracy and recalibrate promptly if any deviation is found.

Every 4 week:
Check for abnormal noise from bearing during operation for preditict fault detection.
Clean cooling water and oil circuit filter screens to maintain unobstructed flow.
Gear oil replacement: Every 3000 operating hours.

Daily: Remove dust on heating elements.
Weekly: Clean filter screens of electrical cabinets.
Every two weeks: Clean dust inside electrical cabinets — 80% of electrical failures are caused by poor heat dissipation.

Every 2–3 months: Based on the calcium content (CaCO3) in the formulation, it is recommended to check the clearance between the screw and barrel every 2–3 months to keep it within the acceptable range.

Die body, die lips and calibrators are precision components. Improper protection during shutdowns can easily cause rust or impact damage.
Upon shutdown: Apply anti-rust oil and wrap with protective film.

Monthly:
Clean the water tank and filter screens.
Lubricate the front and rear screws of moving part.

Every two weeks: Lubricate internal track gears.
Monthly: Adjust track tension to prevent slipping or misalignment.

Regularly: Regularly add lubricant to pneumatic components.
Weekly: Lubricate rotating assemblies.
Every 4 weeks: Check tension of the drive belt.

Regularly:
Regularly lubricate pneumatic components and transmission parts.
Regularly inspect load cell mounting to ensure no other objects contact.

Every 300 operating hours: Lubricate bearing housings with grease every 300 operating hours.
Monthly: Check the condition of sealing gaskets on the discharge valve.
Quarterly: Inspect mixing blade wear (changes in mixing cycle time can be used as a reference indicator).

Workshops are recommended to establish a maintenance schedule covering daily cleaning, weekly inspections, monthly servicing and quarterly overhauls. Keep complete maintenance logs to build traceable equipment records, sustaining long-term efficient and stable line operation.
Combined with smart operation & maintenance, human error can be further minimized and maintenance efficiency improved. LIANSU Flexcon+ Control System comes with digital maintenance functions that automatically record production data, energy consumption, and equipment operating status for easy access and traceability. The system also provides maintenance and spare-parts replacement reminders, supports one-click fault reporting and fault tracking, and helps management teams identify and address equipment issues in a timely manner. By analyzing equipment utilization, energy consumption, output, and other data, maintenance can shift from reactive to proactive, improving both equipment performance and maintenance efficiency.
